Home School Agreement

Home School Agreement – Bankside Decant Year 2009-10

In order to support our BANKSIDE BEST COMMITMENTwe expect the best from everybody and the best for everybody – we, the parents, carers, staff, children, governors and other friends of the Bankside community agree to the following:

  • To keep the Bankside Golden Rules
  • To attend school, everyday, on time.  To make appointments outside school time, whenever possible and to give notice when these happen.  To avoid holidays in term time.
  • To arrive at school punctually: the school day for ALL children begins at 8.45 a.m. and ends at 3.15 p.m.  Children in Red base, Yellow base, Blue base and Indigo base, will be collected from, and delivered, to the Bankside site by the school buses, everyday, at these times.
  • To provide safe school buses for the children attending Firtree Site.  Children will be bussed in their year groups; school staff will supervise children at all times on the buses.  School will create a seating plan for each bus, so that children and adults are secure about travelling arrangements.
  • To park cars in a considerate way to ensure that all children who attend Firtree Site are able to catch their buses safely.
  • To inform home in the event of a child feeling ill at school and to ensure that appropriate arrangements are made to deal with this.
  • To contact school first thing, everyday, when a child is ill at home.
  • To have open and clear communication between home and school, through the following:

  • Open door policy – a senior member of staff will be available on Bankside Site before and after school, making an appointment in advance will help ensure a swift response!
  • Parents Evenings.
  • Home/School record book.
  • Informal daily contact.
  • Half termly class newsletters.
  • End of year reports.

  • To provide current contact details, to ensure these are kept up to date and understand how important this is, in keeping our children healthy and safe.
  • To provide healthy lunches to promote healthy children.
  • To wear our Bankside Best uniform everyday with pride and to bring appropriate  clothing for PE.
  • To read everyday with our children, to encourage them to share their thoughts about the books they read and to allow them to explain their ideas loudly and proudly.
