Bankside aims to be a sustainable school and we strive to teach our children about the world around them and to show them how to have a positive impact on their environment.
EDUCATION LEEDS SUSTAINABLE SCHOOLS PROGRAMME
As part of our journey to become a green school, Bankside took part in the first Education Leeds Sustainable Schools Programme, which aimed to help schools to become greener, more sustainable places. SCHOOL GARDEN
Bankside is a member of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Campaign for School Gardening and last year we were awarded £500 from the Alan Titchmarsh award, for the work we did in our school garden:
- Planting onion sets
- Showing off our skills in the garden
- Rainwater butt and compost bins
- Plan of the Bankside garden
